An acquaintance has passed away in Poland , is it appropriate to send flowers in that country ?

I would guess it is... but being American I am not familiar with all their traditions ...if not flowers what else ?

Flowers are good. That is what they bring to a funeral. I wouldnt worry just about that though, I would call them and said you were sorry. This is more important for them than just flowers.
Reply:flowers are good
Reply:yes it is GOOD :)
Reply:If you want to attend the funeral, bringing flowers are appropriate.

If you want to express your sympathy to the acquitance's family, then condolences (words of sympathy) are more in place. Usually this is done by phone, or even better - in person, but a formal letter is likely to be well recived also.

You generally don't send flowers to the family here, not in the case of death.
Reply:flowers would be well received, but it may take several people to deliver them.
