What color flowers should I send to a female friend?

It's my friend's birthday next week (we're very close friends, although there's nothing romantic between us), and since I'm in college I won't be able to be there. I want to send her some flowers for her birthday, because she's feeling sort of down lately and I think some flowers will remind her somebody cares. What color/style of flowers should I send? I don't want to send anything with romantic overtones, or anything like that--I just want to send something sweet and friendly

What color flowers should I send to a female friend?
If she is a girly girl then send pink. Just avoid red maybe - they are a bit romantic.

Otherwise, send a mixture of colours.
Reply:Carnation roses.
Reply:Daisy's or sunflowers.

Just explain your situation to the florists and tell them its just for a friend for a B-day nothing romantic that you don't want to give the wrong idea. They will come up with something cute. Something in a cup or vase. I sent a friend flowers once that was in a smiley face vase. They can put them in anything or do just about anything you ask.
Reply:Send her a mixed variety of flowers that come in many colors to brighten her day!
Reply:Red roses mean romantic love

Purple roses signify that the giver has fallen in love with the recipient at first sight.

Coral and orange roses signal desire.

Yellow roses are joy and friendship.

Pink roses express our gratitude and appreciation.

Light pink roses show feelings of admiration and sympathy.

Peach Rose is more indefinite, as it can signify either sympathy or gratitude.

White roses show meaning of reverence and humility.

Maybe since her mood has been down:

People respond to different colors in different ways, and these responses take place on a subconscious, emotional level. Specific colors have different effects on the human brain:

Black: self-confidence, power, strength

Blue: calming, lowers blood pressure

Green: soothing, relaxing mentally as well as physically, helps those suffering from depression, anxiety, nervousness

Violet: provides a peaceful environment

Pink: relaxes, relieves tension, soothing

Yellow: energizes, relieves depression

Orange energizes, stimulates

Red: stimulates brain wave activity, increases heart rate, respirations and blood pressure

Hope this helps you decide, found it on some website.
Reply:Roses- Yellow is the most commonly used color for friendship, although white and pink are acceptable nowadays.

Lillies- stargazers last a while and they smell INCREDIBLE!

Carnations- last a very long time as well (I once had some that kept for almost 2 weeks!)
