When is the appropriet time to send flowers to a family that just lost a family member?

this person died on tuesday night. i asked because i didn't want to send flowers too early or too late. i appreciate your opinion in advance.

When is the appropriet time to send flowers to a family that just lost a family member?
I always do right away. Then they have something as a bright spot in their days ahead. The 5 days after a death are hard. There are a lot of responsabilities and planning. I don't call and bug them, just let them know if they need anything that I am available. The flowers remind them of this.

Reply:During a time of morning people don't mind getting things from people showing their love and support. You can always find out the funeral home information and send flowers there.
Reply:Try and find out where the funeral service and/or viewing are going to be and send the flowers to that location on the day of the event. You should let the florist know the time of the funeral to insure they deliver the flowers in time. This way the family doesn't have to worry about transporting the flowers to the service. If you'd rather send the flowers directly to the family's home, go ahead and do it now. There isn't a time period you need to worry about following.
